Melanie is a new board member on the communications committee, and when you receive an AAF Columbus email, chances are Melanie wrote the copy. She's been in marketing for the last 5 years, mainly as a copywriter, social media marketer, traffic manager, and account executive.

When she isn't writing for work, you can find her blog at, where she muses on running, flying and life. She was recently crazy enough to "run" up Pikes Peak in Colorado (elevation gain of about 8,000 ft), and completed her first 50 mile run in July. Melanie is also an instrument rated pilot, and has recently launched a non-profit to encourage other girls to be involved in aviation and science.

"At AAF Columbus, we are proud to be the leading organization for Central Ohio that provides leadership, knowledge, and networking for creative and digital professionals. If you’re in design, technology, media, or promotions, we make sure our members stay at the top of their industry by keeping up-to-date with the new advancements. On behalf of our board and our members, we look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!" -Alessandro Ciaffoncini (President, 2014-2015)

Our name and logo are different, but our commitment to our members and to the advertising industry remains the same. As AAF Columbus, we are thinking nationally and acting locally through a more solid partnership with our parent organization, the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Our partnership puts us at the forefront in unifying the local, regional and national connections and resources that impact our membership and community.

Why AAF Columbus?

AAF, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is the glue that holds together more than 200 local clubs across the country representing 40,000 advertising professionals and more than 200 AAF college chapters, with more than 6,500 student members. Add to that nearly 100 blue-chip corporate members—and you begin to see the power of our national affiliation, connecting us all within one amazing, nationally coordinated grassroots network.
